Ugly Adolescence

Ugly Adolescence 4.75 x 2.5" I know...it's not a pretty painting. But, I have to tell you, after surgery it was good to get a laugh and this perky adolescent Guinea Hen gave me the giggles every time I layed down the brush. She is a resident at the Brookfield Zoo and boy is she EVER noisy! I think she felt compelled to compete with the strutting peacocks. Either that or she felt it necessary to complain about those itchy pin feathers of hers. I don't know...I don't speak Guinea Fowl. Fiesty little thing!

Christiane! So nice of you to drop by! Thank you. I can't say this little hen is very pretty but she did lift my spirits! I'm ready to paint pretty again. Ha!

The texture on this little lady is great. You are sure doing well with your miniatures.

Ellie, I blame YOU for getting me addicted to these little paintings. Somehow they are not as intimidating as a larger canvass. But, as you WELL know, they sure do take just as long to complete!
I have just finished penciling in a tiger and another wolf and so am getting excited as the painting process goes much faster! Time's a ticking though...the shows are just around the corner! Yikes! Thanks for stopping in!

Christiane...you are so funny!

All guinea hens must be noisy. A Northern Michigan artist said she had to finally slaughter her guinea hen as it was making the neighbors very angry. She wasn't too happy either. This is so gorgeous Mary. I just can't stop looking at it!

Hi Diane! What a terribly sad story! But...I understand...they ARE noisy! Thanks so much for stopping in and commenting! Since you missed our June Chicago trip I expect you to fly out here solo so I can take you to our zoo myself and introduce you to all my buddies! We'd have so much fun!
