Miniature painting is growing in popularity these days. And I can understand its appeal! What a fantastic challenge to paint a composition so utterly diminutive that one requires a magnifying glass to check one's lines! I had loads of fun with this little guy. He was a patient model and stood still while I fumbled my camera to take a reference photo!
The painting is 2" x 3" and painted in watercolors.

Hello Lloyd! I'm glad you enjoyed the seedling packets at church. It was fun to put together a little gift from the garden to share...besides...what an excuse to do some floral artwork as well!
Good Morning Sandy! Thank you ever so much for dropping by! I'm afraid I've been a bit negligent to the blog due to holiday hustle and bustle but now it's time to get busy and nurture that muse once again! Onward! What sort of artwork moves you?
Thought I'd pop in, Mary. I miss Oak Park! I wish you'd moved up there earlier and we could have painted together for a while. I'll be there soon, though. Before you know it my June trip will be here. i'll be bringing students to Oak Park from Texas and showing them around chicago.
Oh Debbie! You must give me a call! I'd love to see you!
Mary. Are you going to enter this painting in a miniature show? It would surely be accepted. I think that you would really enjoy entering the shows. Please do it, ok? The two bigger shows that I enter are going on now so you have time to paint all of the others for next time. I will keep harping on you.
Ellie
Ellie, you are my favorite "harper"! I cherish your support and encouragement! Thank you!
